Warning.. Rant coming up. These are my own personal thoughts on the subject, I would like to know what you think about it..

The Word Respect

  • Doing sports in general
  • Owning up on social media
  • Having discipline

These are just a few examples where people seem to have ‘respect’ for. It seems to me that this is the totally incorrect way to show a form of appreciation, when somebody is doing sports, is able to stick to his believes or goes to the gym for the first time when he’s 200kg. Don’t get me wrong.. It is of course very good they do it, but RESPECT?

Maybe it is just me, but what is your personal definition of the word Respect?

A or B?

Gym
D-Day

Yeah, I thought so.

Could be of course that this is a European thing, and that in English-speaking countries people are not throwing this around like it’s nothing, but it is hitting a nerve with me, there must be other people who feel the same? Or am I overreacting?

What Respect means for me

The Ultimate Sacrifice
The willingness to go into harm’s way
Brotherhood

You disagree? Convince me.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,……. BREATHE

Thanks for reading,

Mark
