What is Arminius

After serving in the Dutch Army Special Forces unit “Korps Commando Troepen”, I served in different units ranging from Diplomatic close protection to contractor work.

I soon found out that the first feeling of real Brotherhood and bonding like I felt it in my first unit and teams, was very hard to get back once I was in those other units. It was not that I didn’t like the people, or that they were unprofessional. It had to do with the fact that I did not went through the same things as I did that first time.

And the more the years pass by and the less contact there is, that old feeling of Brotherhood seems to go away, “BUT WAIT, that’s not what I want!” No, of course not, we want this Bond, this Brotherhood, this Community, this Family, this Tribe to be strong.. we want:

A Tribe of Warriors, We want: Arminius

Arminius you say? So what’s that? It’s way of thinking based on 4 pillars:

  • Respect
  • Loyalty
  • Accountability
  • Brotherhood

Let’s have a closer look at these 4 pillars.

Respect:

rɪˈspɛkt/
noun
1. a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
Arminius:
Respect your heritage, your parents, your brothers, nature… Where you came from, who taught you. So, have respect, don’t be an asshole and be grateful.

Loyalty:

ˈlɔɪəlti/
noun
1. a strong feeling of support or allegiance. Being faithful to someone or something.
Arminius:
Be honest, true, don’t lie and don’t hide. Be loyal to your Family, your Brother and your Tribe.

Accountability:

əˌkaʊntəˈbɪlɪti/
noun
1. the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility.
Arminius:
You are responsible for your life, for your actions. Take ownership. Show that you are responsible, don’t make excuses. Do the right thing.

Brotherhood:

ˈbrʌðəhʊd/
noun
 1.the relationship between brothers.
“the bonds of brotherhood”
Arminius:
Build the Brotherhood, support each other always, to get trough hard times. But also to get better, faster and harder to kill!

Can you Handle it?
Is this your way, is this the way you want to live?
Welcome to the Arminius Tribe!
Don’t worry if you are not 100% there yet, you’re in it for life. It is a constant battle to stay on the right path, this is not the easy path, no. But it will give you the most satisfaction.
